you can try bannock. Its a pan cooked bread. You can add almost anything else you would need to keep well fed. You use flour, powder milk wheat germ oat meal. you can add meat, veggies just about anything you like. If you go to you tube type in Bannock or fried bread you will find some videos. I will mix it up alittle and use corn bread too.

With our kids still in college, we are not a 100% sure of our timeline yet. We'd love to get going in spring of 2013, but as you know there are many factors in "real life" that can change things. By the way rolling through Perth may be on our list....thanks for the invite!

Hey you two,
Keep pushing those dominoes over. your trip will be here before you know it. What's your timeline?
Now that our trip is almost over, we need to follow someone else's vicariously.
If you make it down under, there's a welcome for you in Perth :)

Keep pedalling!!!

I'm sure there is; however, we didn't use one, so we can't help you out there. Try checking out an "I" (tourist information) place and I'm sure they can help you out. Yes it can be a little confusing getting in/out of Budapest itself, but really once you're on the trail you should be fine because it's marked pretty well. If you have a gps I can send you a gpx file. Are you planning on taking a train from Budapest to Vienna?

You should have no problems riding from Budapest to the town of Visegrad. For most of the ride you will be on a bike trail, but there are some sections where you will be out on the road. The ruin in Visegrad is up on a hill and you can either walk or ride your bike up to it. Also, in Tahitótfalu (a few towns after Szentendre) be careful to not follow the EuroVelo 6 signs that take a right and have you cross over a bridge. Just stay straight on the main road and you will pick up the trail again. If you do end up crossing over the Donau you'll have to take a ferry over to Visegrad. Hope this helps.

How was the grade change from Budapest to Visegrad? We're regular commuter cyclists in Chicago, IL but it's flat as a pancake here. Doesn't seem to be a train to Visegrad from Budpest and we were planning to bike to Szentendre anyway. Would you say it's easily doable on a rental hybrid style bike?
