The day starts out at 05:55 Friday as we leave our house and head off to work. The ride to work is a short 25 miles and since we are leaving right after work, we have all of our gear with us or as my work colleagues call it “our homeless kit.” Our last minute route change has us crossing over the Belleair bridge and following the coast instead of continuing down the Pinellas Trail which would have been ok too, just not as scenic. About halfway down we came across an ice cream shop, so we stopped and treated ourselves.
After indulging on Sundaes and Banana Splits we hit the road again. The route down had a Key West feel to it with all the small colorful shops and outside “Bars & Grills”, as well as a bike lane for most of the trip. We reached the park just before sunset and setup up camp in time for the Raccoons to come visit.
After dinner and some lounging around in our hammocks it was time to call it a night. Good Night All!
