Instead of just going out and riding 30 miles, I decided to add a mission to today’s ride. We would hit several parks in northern Pinellas County and test our new point and shoot camera that replaced our former Panasonic. See… during our Ft. Desoto camping trip, our former camera had a little accident and lucky for us we bought the damage insurance. Normally we don’t bother with the insurance, but it worked out for us this time! We basically bought the same camera; however, two years have passed and this model is waterproof, shock proof, freeze proof, and is GPS enabled. It’s like the perfect camera for active and/or outdoor types! We’re pretty excited about the GPS thing because many of our pictures are taken while we are riding and sometimes you forget where along the route you took the picture, so today’s test is to see how exactly the GPS tagging works. We put together a short slideshow of the parks from today and it appears iPhoto mapped them accordingly to their locations. The big test will be next month when we are bike touring through parts of Europe. Stay tuned for a more updates regarding this camera.
