Today's Topic? Entertainment on a Budget while Traveling

Obviously, we travel to see the beautiful sights of various places and to experience different cultures. We like to explore historical sites, cities, castles and churches. Luckily, the world is full of easy to find ancient and historical sites, we have heard of in our history and humanity classes.

Today's topic? Eating on a budget while traveling.

Most people seem to think that traveling or long-term traveling for that matter has to be expensive. If you look at the glamorous vacation-ads on TV or at travel agencies, it really seems to support that thought. We however, would like to point out, that eating on a budget while traveling is absolutely possible and enjoyable.
Like most people we dreamed about taking a year and see the world, but the hardest part is trying to figure out how to save enough money to travel. We would read stories and articles of other travelers and ask, “How did they do that?” and like most people, we figured they probably came from money, won the lottery, or had a ton of help. We even met Rick Steves in Rothenburg o.d. Tauber during our 2002 vacation to Germany and my first question to him was, “How do I do

After a lot of bike-tech-talk, our plan to travel the world came up, and shortly after that the much dreaded question: "how can you afford such an adventure?" and the so common statement : "you are so lucky, we wish we could do that!" For some reason most people that we encounter seem to believe that we either won the lottery, are independently rich, very lucky, or just plain insane, to undergo such an adventure.

Well, we do quite a few things: since we cycle to/from work every day we don't really miss the gym membership. Actually it is a nice way to wind down after work and I find it quite relaxing getting my "workout" in right after work. To be
