On a Bike?!?

On a Bike?!?

Conversation while getting supplies from the grocery store

“Where are ya’ll coming from?”

“Down from Florida, just North of Clearwater.”

“On a bike!?! When did you guys start?”

“Last Saturday.”

“On those bikes?!?” Where are ya’ll going?”

“The plan is to go around the world, but for now we are heading up to Tennessee and then to Canada.”

“On a bicycles?!? How do you make it over the mountains?”

“We’ll have to ride over them.”

“On bikes?!?! Better you than me! Good luck!”

It’s funny, we are only a week into our world tour and already do people seem to think we came a really long way! And we feel like we just got started.

Today we rode an easy 63 miles with tail wind through the beautiful South Carolina scenery.

We have encountered a few pitch black Fox squirrels and to our surprise we have also seen Alligators this far up north.

Around five o’clock we looked for an opportunity to refill our water so we can scout out an area to wild camp tonight, and soon we found a quiet little area in the woods. We cooked up a pot of pasta, set up camp, and chilled out in the tent. It will take some getting used to to all the strange animal sounds around us before we’ll fall asleep tonight.

Good night!

This looks amazing guys. I love the natural style camp ground. Are you buying groceries daily? Or do you just have a few staples and build off of that?
I can’t wait to see where your adventures take you next.

Thanks Nancy, camping could not get much more natural than this! By the way we try to buy groceries like pasta, oatmeal etc, that last for a few days, but we have to get some of the lunch meats, veggies, or fruit pretty much on daily basis. But that’s ok, we like taking a break here and there. It is also very interesting to check out different grocery stores in different areas.
